The head coach of the football club "Zhetysu", Samat Smakov, has been suspended for four matches.
According to Cmn.kz, the control and disciplinary committee made this decision due to Smakov's remarks directed at the country's football officials.
"For unsportsmanlike conduct, expressed in the use of offensive language towards an official of the match of the fifth round of the 2025 Republic of Kazakhstan Football Championship between the teams 'Ordabasy' and 'Zhetysu', in accordance with subparagraph 1) of paragraph 1 of Article 45 of the DR, the head coach of the 'Zhetysu' team, Samat Smakov, is disqualified for four matches", the Kazakhstan Football Federation said in a statement.
It is reported that at the 87th minute of the match, Samat Smakov received a red card. The match ended with a score of 1:0 in favour of 'Ordabasy'.
After the game, the coach criticised the refereeing and the level of development of professional football in Kazakhstan.
"It is very hard when you are playing against 13 men. I have never touched on the subject of referees, but today was sheer lawlessness. I knew that this referee would be officiating our match four days before the game. This gentleman is one of the heads of the refereeing department, and he appoints himself to matches. <…> I'll put it this way, you have picked the wrong person to try and sink. I will say everything. I will not remain silent," Samat Smakov stated.
