According to the agency's press service, the operation was carried out jointly with the regional prosecutor's office, the National Security Committee, the regional police, and the border service. The organisers of the illegal establishments turned out to be citizens of the People's Republic of China

It became known that the gambling houses were only open at night for a limited circle of people, specifically only for citizens of the People's Republic of China.

During a search of four buildings, law enforcement officers discovered 76 slot machines, 43 gaming tables, the technical equipment necessary for organising gambling, as well as cash totalling 60,000 yuan.

"The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. In accordance with Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, other information is not subject to disclosure in the interests of the investigation," the statement reads.
