This was reported by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, while discussing measures as part of the work to combat gambling addiction, as reported by the Telegram channel 'They're already on their way for us'.
The self-restriction service for participation in gambling has been used by 463,829 citizens of Kazakhstan. Of these, 224,793 restrictions remain in effect.
WHAT RESTRICTIONS ARE ALREADY IN PLACE
According to Olzhas Bektenov, Kazakhstan has already introduced a ban on participation in gambling for debtors, civil servants, military personnel and law enforcement officers.
Additionally, the country has restricted advertising for bookmakers and banned SMS mailings with gambling advertisements. The period for voluntary self-restriction has been extended to 10 years.
WHAT MEASURES WERE TAKEN AGAINST ILLEGAL CASINOS
As the Prime Minister reported, using the 'Cybersurveillance' system, more than 55,000 illegal online casinos have been blocked in Kazakhstan.
Furthermore, over 2,000 advertising structures of bookmaker companies have been dismantled across the country.
