Former shareholder of JSC «Capital Bank Kazakhstan» and JSC «AsiaCredit Bank» Orifjan Shadiyev is asking to be released from sanctions.

According to the Telegram channel «Nege.Aqsha», in March the court ordered an enforcement penalty of 1,574,087,522 tenge to be recovered from Shadiyev in favour of the state.

It is reported that the businessman disagreed with this amount and filed a lawsuit asking for it to be removed entirely. Shadiyev cites health problems, which he claims have affected his financial situation.

The court will now examine whether there are real grounds for satisfying the claim.

Recall that earlier Orifjan Shadiyev was sentenced to 18 months' imprisonment for causing damage amounting to 16 billion tenge to Asia Credit Bank. His assistant Mikhail Solovyov was convicted alongside him. A sum of 16.6 billion tenge was recovered from the convicted individuals in favour of the liquidation commission of JSC «AsiaCredit Bank», along with a state duty of 50.7 million tenge to be paid to the state's revenue.
