The Interdistrict Criminal Court of Astana has sentenced the head of a branch of the Chia Tai Pharmaceutical financial pyramid.
According to the press service of the department, the defendant attracted depositors' funds under the guise of investing in a pharmaceutical plant, and then embezzled them. As a result, 12 victims lost 29.2 million tenge.
The court found the branch head guilty and sentenced her to 5 years' imprisonment with a ban on engaging in the attraction of funds and investments from citizens for 5 years.
Recall that in November of last year, the AFM reported the completion of the investigation into the head of the branch of the financial pyramid 'Chia Tai Tianging', of which 200 depositors suffered damage amounting to 700 million tenge.
In April, the AFM reported on the investigation of 17 criminal cases regarding the creation of the financial pyramid 'Chia Tai Tianqing' on the territory of Kazakhstan. The total damage amounted to 7 billion tenge.
In July, it became known that in the West Kazakhstan Region, the total amount of damage from the activities of 'Chia Tai Tianqing' exceeded 769 million tenge.
In October, it was reported that in the East Kazakhstan Region, depositors of 'Chia Tai Pharmaceutical' lost 350 million tenge.
