In Astana, they plan to triple the tariff for waste removal.

This was stated by the Minister of National Economy Nurlan Baibazarov. He noted that tariffs will be raised gradually.

According to the Telegram channel "NEKhabar", the waste disposal service in the capital currently costs 390 tenge per month. The tariff is planned to increase to 1,000 tenge.

According to officials, this decision was made due to the fact that the capital is now producing more waste, and utility services need to purchase additional equipment and containers.

Recall that in October it was reported that since the beginning of the year, 162 thousand tonnes of waste had been collected and taken to landfills in Astana. Authorised bodies identified unauthorised dumps on 221 sites.

Shortly before that, in Zhanaozen, overcharging for waste disposal services was uncovered. The tariff for city residents was 433.46 tenge, of which 87.87 tenge was charged for waste sorting.

However, waste sorting has not been carried out in the city since November 2023. Thus, more than 152 thousand consumers, including 1,556 enterprises, paid for non-existent services totalling 117 million tenge.
