A teenager suspected of involvement in a school conflict at a school in Kulsary has returned to his studies after the court imposed a preventive measure not involving detention. Under house arrest, he is permitted to attend lessons according to the established schedule.
CONTEXT
On 6 February, a video circulated on social media showing a pupil running through a school corridor with an object visually resembling an axe. According to information later received from the education authorities, two schoolchildren were injured as a result of the conflict and are receiving medical treatment.

As a result, from 6 February to 6 April 2026, house arrest was authorised for him, with a number of restrictions.
The court further specified that the suspect is permitted to attend lessons according to the established schedule, and supervision of his behaviour is assigned to the Zhylyoi District Police Department.
WHAT IS KNOWN ABOUT THE CONDITION OF THE VICTIMS
The Education Department of Atyrau Region reported that the two schoolchildren injured in the conflict are continuing treatment. No details regarding the severity of their condition are provided in the materials.

Following the incident, disciplinary measures were also taken against the school's management. According to the Education Department of Atyrau Region, on 5 February, the principal of Pushkin School No. 6 in Kulsary was issued a severe reprimand.
On 6 February, she submitted a resignation letter of her own accord. She had been working as principal since 2022.
