In Astana, heads of kindergartens, a director of a limited liability partnership (LLP) and a kindergarten employee embezzled more than 35 million tenge

According to the press service of the Astana courts, the heads submitted applications for food products that were not purchased, and also issued electronic invoices, waybills, and reconciliation statements with an inaccurately stated object. It is reported that the heads transferred money to the account of the LLP director.

"The defendants, with the help of the LLP director, embezzled property entrusted to them on a large scale, exceeding 35 million tenge. In court, the prosecutor upheld the charge. The defendants did not admit guilt and requested an acquittal," the court verdict stated.

As a result, the court sentenced the heads to 3 years' imprisonment. For one of them, taking into account mitigating circumstances and health conditions, the actual prison sentence was replaced with restriction of liberty. The kindergarten employee received a similar sentence. The LLP director was sentenced to 4 years' imprisonment.

"The convicts were given an additional sentence of lifelong deprivation of the right to hold positions in the civil service and the quasi-public sector. The verdict has not entered into legal force," the statement said.
