The court annulled the state registration and ordered the liquidation of several institutions in Almaty that were involved in charity and educational activities. All of them were part of the association of charitable institutions «Jibek Joly».
According to the Telegram channel «Chinovnik», as a result of an inspection, the authorised body found that out of 26 institutions, only 11 were actually operational, while the remaining 15 were entirely absent from their registered addresses. Among them: a boarding school for girls «Ana Amanaty», a social children's residential home «AMANAT», a social children's residential home «Almaly», «Sauran-Islamic Cultural Centre», and others.
«The institutions committed a number of serious violations of the law, directly related to the life and health of children, including in the areas of migration, labour, land, environmental, and housing legislation. Violations were also identified in the fields of architectural, urban planning, and construction activities, as well as fire safety requirements, sanitary and epidemiological standards, and religious, charitable, and financial-economic activities», the statement said.
Furthermore, some of the institutions were carrying out educational activities without the appropriate licences.
«A religious bias among the charitable institutions was confirmed, and the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Republic of Kazakhstan unilaterally terminated its memorandum with «Jibek Joly». Criminal cases were opened against a number of these institutions and their management for violating legal norms (including driving a minor to suicide, failure to fulfil duties in raising a minor, inciting social, national, racial, and religious hatred, and discovery of literature deemed extremist and terrorist by the court)», the statement said.
Ultimately, the specialised inter-district economic court of Almaty annulled the state registration and liquidated the operations of 26 charitable institutions.
