How sand extraction is destroying the Ilek River in the Aktobe region
The FBK editorial office has received reports from residents of the Aktobe region concerned about the condition of the Ilek River. According to them, new quarries for the extraction of sand and sand-and-gravel mixtures are actively appearing along the floodplain. People fear that interference with the riverbed and floodplain system could have consequences not only for the ecology but also for the region's water supply.

The Ministry of Ecology stated that CCTV cameras to combat illegal dumping have been deemed "impractical", as waste is supposedly stored outside populated areas. Approximately 1.4 billion tenge have been allocated from the government reserve for the reconstruction of a protective dam in the village of Teplychnoye, Kyzylzhar District, North Kazakhstan Region. The corresponding resolution was signed by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov.

The rights of shareholders worth over 6 billion tenge were protected by the prosecutor's office of the Aktobe region.

The Prosecutor's Office of the Aktobe Region has protected the rights of equity holders who suffered from the illegal actions of developers. In the region, there are 12 problematic shared construction projects, with 797 people recognised as victims and the total damage exceeding 6.1 billion tenge.
