An underground workshop producing counterfeit alcohol was uncovered in Shymkent.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Justice, a local resident used brands such as “Absolut”, “Zelyonaya Marka”, “Aidabulskaya”, “Qulan” and others to sell counterfeit products.
A case was opened against him under Article 158 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Kazakhstan (illegal use of other people's trademarks).
During an inspection of the underground workshop, 3,000 litres of liquid of unknown origin, filters, bottling equipment, 720 caps bearing the “Absolut” trademark, and 1,400 caps bearing the “Zelyonaya Marka” trademark were seized.
Recall that earlier, the specialised administrative court of Taraz ordered the confiscation of alcohol products worth 110.2 million tenge from “ASCO Pro” LLP. However, the former head of the company decided to keep the confiscated goods for himself. As a result, Court No. 2 of Taraz found him guilty and sentenced him to 1 year and 3 months in prison.
