The head of the criminal police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Kanat Nurmagambetov spoke about individuals detained abroad who embezzled large sums from Kazakh citizens.
According to Polisia.kz, Nurmagambetov reported that a man was detained at Warsaw airport who, in December 2014, fraudulently embezzled $1 million from Kazakh citizens.
In another case, a woman was detained in Antalya (Turkey) for taking money from residents of Almaty totalling $146,000.
As the head of the department noted, Kazakh police officers constantly cooperate with foreign colleagues, resulting in the detention of 21 wanted criminals outside the republic.
Recall that earlier, a suspect in fraud was extradited from Germany to Kazakhstan. It was noted that this individual, along with two accomplices, created fictitious companies and, under the guise of wheat delivery, embezzled funds from an entrepreneur totalling over 100 million tenge.
