The head of the rural district named after Kudaibergen Zhubanov in the Mugalzhar district of the Aktobe region Lyazzat Berdibayeva has been held accountable after publishing a photo with steppe tulips.

According to Informburo.kz citing the regional police department, the official posted the photo of a bouquet of tulips in the status of the WhatsApp messenger.

It is noted that an administrative protocol was drawn up against Berdibayeva, however, not for picking tulips, but for failing to fulfil duties in raising a minor. Earlier, the official stated that her children had picked the flowers.

The sanction of the article in question provides for a fine in the amount of 10 MCI (39,320 tenge).

"A submission has been sent to the district akimat so that the matter can be reviewed by the ethics council for civil servants", the department added.

Recall that earlier in the Aktobe region, an inspection was initiated in connection with the publication of a photo of the head of the rural district Lyazzat Berdibayeva, holding steppe tulips. The photo provoked a negative reaction from social media users, who questioned the legality of picking the flowers and asked for measures to be taken.

Later, Senate Deputy Olga Bulavkina commented on the incident. She stated that environmental legislation needs to find a balance between protecting nature and a reasonable differentiation of responsibility depending on the intentions of the violator.
