In Pavlodar, prosecutors are investigating cases of fraud and mistreatment of residents at a private care home.

According to the city prosecutor's office press service, law enforcement officials uncovered a private care home where unlawful acts were allegedly committed against elderly people with disabilities.

It has been reported that care home staff are suspected of restricting food and movement for 20 elderly residents, as well as systematically using physical violence against them. Additionally, employees of the facility are accused of renting out the apartments of deceased residents over a prolonged period.

In connection with these incidents, Pavlodar prosecutors have initiated pre-trial proceedings, with the investigation assigned to the internal affairs authorities.

Recall that in October last year, it became known that in Pavlodar, an educator at the regional children's psychoneurological centre for special social services was beating children with disabilities. Details of the abuse came to light thanks to CCTV footage.
