Prison sentences for corruption have been handed down to officials from the DUZR of the Turkistan Region.

In Turkestan, the city court announced the verdict against the head of the Department for Land Resource Management (DLRM) Myrzaev A., his accomplice Baltabaev A., and the head of a department within this division Zhetpisov B.

According to the press service of the Anti-Corruption Agency, Myrzaev and Baltabaev were suspected of fraud and incitement to give a bribe, while Zhetpisov was suspected of attempted bribery. 

The investigation established that Myrzaev and Baltabaev obtained 18 million tenge from an entrepreneur for arranging a land plot. 

Furthermore, under the pretext of giving a bribe to officials for general patronage, Myrzaev fraudulently obtained 70 thousand tenge (from the previously agreed 5 million tenge) from Zhetpisov. 

Ultimately, the court found the accused guilty and sentenced Myrzaev to 8 years in prison, Baltabaev to 7 years, and Zhetpisov to 3 years, with a lifetime ban from holding positions in the civil service. 

"The verdict was announced with the participation of the staff of the regional department for land resource management and the land relations department of the city of Turkestan. The verdict has not entered into legal force.", the statement reads.
