In the Zhambyl region, a contractor was ordered to dismantle a poorly poured section of the «Ogorodny 1» canal. This was reported by the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The violations were identified by the Vice-Minister Yerbolat Ibraikhanov during an inspection of the reconstruction of the Right-Bank Main Canal in the Shu district. After an order was issued to rectify the defects, the contractor re-did the work.

Yerbolat Ibraikhanov stressed that the contractor had been given instructions regarding the inadmissibility of such defects.

«Work must be carried out strictly in accordance with the approved design and current building regulations,» he stated.

Inspections are being carried out under the programme to improve irrigation and drainage systems PMID-2. Specialists from «Kazvodkhoz» and the relevant department continue to inspect the remaining sections.
