Details have emerged of a new pre-trial investigation into the founder of the charitable foundation «BizBirgemiz Qazaqstan» Perizat Kairat.
According to the press service of the AFM, the new episode relates to fraud during the collection of money for the construction of a rehabilitation centre for disabled children.
In November 2021, the suspect organised a charity auction under the pretence of raising funds for the construction of a rehabilitation centre for the Public Association «Batyr» in the Akmola region.
To increase trust in the event, Perizat Kairat involved disabled children and their parents.
«According to false information disseminated by Kairat P., 48 million tenge was raised and a premises worth 100 million tenge was donated. However, in reality, during the auction, 22 million tenge was received, which she used for personal purposes», the statement says.
Furthermore, she claimed to have purchased a land plot worth 30 million tenge for the needs of the PA «Batyr», even though the association had already purchased this plot in 2019.
It is noted that the construction of the rehabilitation centre never began. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
Recall that in November, it became known that the AFM is conducting an investigation into the volunteer movement activist and founder of the public charitable foundation «BizBirgemiz Qazaqstan» Perizat Kairat. It was reported that she is suspected of embezzling 1.7 billion tenge.
In mid-December, the court seized the suspect's luxury property, cars, equipment, clothing, footwear, jewellery, as well as designer handbags from global brands.
A few days ago, the Deputy Chairman of the AFM, Zhenis Yelemesov, reported that 100 volumes had been compiled on the case of Perizat Kairat. Additionally, it was noted that her mother, Gaini Alashbayeva, is suspected of complicity in fraud and the legalisation of criminally obtained money. A criminal case has been opened against Alashbayeva.
