In the Ayagoz district of the Abai region, the prosecutor's office identified violations in the field of public procurement amounting to 200 million tenge.
According to the press service of the department, the district housing and communal services department illegally procured services for the winter maintenance of roads using a single-source method.
This restricted access to the tender for other potential suppliers and violated the principles of competition.
After the intervention of the prosecutor's office, the illegal contract was terminated, and the procurement procedure was returned to a competitive environment.
As a result, the head of the housing and communal services department was brought to administrative responsibility under Part 11 of Article 207 of the Code of Administrative Offences ("Violation of legislation on public procurement") and fined 100 MCI (393,200 tenge).
In addition, for similar violations, the deputy akim of the Ayagoz district and six akims of rural districts were brought to administrative responsibility with fines totalling 1.3 million tenge.
Recall that earlier, prosecutors of the Zhetysu region held the head of the housing and communal services department of the Karatal district akimat administratively liable for violations in public procurement.
