In the Karaganda region, the former head of the Specialised Public Service Centre (SpetsTsON) and the deputy head of the Public Service Centre (TsON) have been detained.
According to the Agency for Financial Monitoring (AFM), they are suspected of illegally registering freight vehicles.
"To avoid paying the first registration fee and recycling charges for vehicles, the TsON employees entered deliberately false data regarding the VIN codes of freight vehicles into the integrated information system," the statement said.
In total, they illegally carried out the first registration of 33 freight vehicles. The damage to the state exceeded 315 million tenge.
The court has sanctioned a pre-trial restriction of "custody" for the detainees and has seized property worth 42 million tenge.
Recall that in April, the AFM department of the Kostanay region began a pre-trial investigation into the registration of 83 heavy goods vehicles without payment of the first registration fee. The damage to the state amounted to 591 million tenge.
At the same time, the Anti-Corruption Service identified corruption risks during vehicle registration and the issuance of driving licences at the country's SpetsTsONs. Agency employees entered false data and issued forged documents.
In May in Astana, employees of the SpetsTsON, police officers and civilians who were involved in the illegal registration of vehicles imported from abroad without paying fees and charges were sentenced.
Later, the Anti-Corruption Service of Almaty began a pre-trial investigation into the deputy head of Specialised Department No. 1 for Public Services of the branch of the NJSC 'State Corporation' 'Government for Citizens'. He is suspected of embezzling 930 thousand tenge from an entrepreneur.
In July, AFM officers identified a group of individuals who were illegally registering cars from distant foreign countries. From June to August 2021, the suspects illegally carried out the first registration of over 150 freight vehicles in the Pavlodar region.
