The Prosecutor's Office of the Zhanibek district of the West Kazakhstan region has identified a case of abuse of official authority by the head of the district construction department.
According to the press service of the department, despite an active disciplinary penalty, he unlawfully awarded himself a bonus in the amount of 766,510 tenge.
"In connection with this fact, on 17 March 2025, the district prosecutor's office issued a supervisory act addressed to the disciplinary board of the Department of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Civil Service Affairs in the West Kazakhstan region," the statement reads.
Based on the recommendation of the disciplinary board, the head of the construction and architecture department of the Zhanibek district was dismissed from his post. The damage caused to the state was fully compensated.
For context, earlier in Taraz, for the embezzlement of 519 million tenge, the head of the city construction department and a representative of contracting organisations were convicted.
