In Almaty, accountants of the city clinic Khangireyeva K. and Tuganbayeva A. have been convicted. They were accused of embezzling budget funds.
According to the press service of the Anti-Corruption Agency, the defendants transferred salaries and other payments to individuals who did not work at the hospital. The damage amounted to more than 341 million tenge.
As a result, the court found the defendants guilty. The chief accountant, Khangireyeva, was sentenced to 7 years and 6 months in prison.
Her subordinate, Tuganbayeva, was sentenced to 7 years in prison.
Recall that earlier, a doctor from the capital's medical centre, Makishev, was convicted of receiving a bribe of 500,000 tenge. The medical centre doctor received the illegal reward from a patient for performing a planned surgical operation.
Furthermore, at the beginning of the year, it was reported that Anti-Corruption Agency employees from the Aktobe region detained the chief doctor of the multidisciplinary regional hospital, Yerzhan Uzganov, on suspicion of corruption. The detainee admitted his guilt and agreed to cooperate with the investigation.
