Money and goods worth 5.9 billion tenge were seized by border guards in July

The Border Service of the KNB has published a report on its activities for July 2025.

According to the department's press office, during this period 4,725 border violators were detained, including 4,132 foreign nationals.

KNB officers prevented 1,462 cases of illegal movement across the state border, including:

  • weapons and ammunition – 60 cases;
  • religious literature – 25 cases (627 copies);
  • fuel and lubricants – 524 cases totalling approximately 35 tonnes;
  • consumer goods – 682 cases worth over 4.2 billion tenge;
  • currency – 171 cases worth over 1.7 billion tenge.

The border guards also prevented 51 cases of poaching in the Caspian Sea area, seizing 14 vessels and around 20 km of poaching nets.

The total cost of the damage amounted to approximately 116 million tenge. Materials relating to these cases were sent to law enforcement and judicial authorities to bring the offenders to account.

It will be recalled that it was previously reported that in May KNB officers prevented 1,443 cases of illegal movement across the state border, including consumer goods worth over 2.8 billion tenge and currency worth over 1.4 billion tenge.
