Police brought 191 officials to administrative responsibility, including 108 medical workers for offences in the sphere of legal drug trafficking.

According to Polisia.kz, due to violations of storage conditions, law enforcement officers restricted the circulation of over 44,000 tablets, 14,000 ampoules of psychoactive drugs and 3,000 tonnes of precursors that could be used in the manufacture of synthetic drugs.

In total, during the raid operations, police inspected more than a thousand organisations using precursors and medical drugs, including 721 pharmacies, 77 warehouses, 159 medical and preventive healthcare institutions and 129 industrial enterprises.

For example, on the territory of one industrial facility in the West Kazakhstan Region, more than 14 tonnes of hydrochloric acid were seized, which was used without a licence.

During an inspection of a medical organisation in the Abay Region, violations of the rules for storing and destroying narcotic drugs were identified, where 137 ampoules of psychoactive substances were seized. A criminal case was opened against the pharmacist.

"We appeal to legal entities involved in the trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors, regarding the necessity of complying with the norms for the transportation, storage, use and sale of controlled substances. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reminds that violations of the requirements established by legislation in the sphere of legal drug trafficking carry criminal liability under Article 303 of the Criminal Code, which entails a penalty in the form of a fine of up to 600 thousand tenge or arrest for a period of up to 40 days.", the statement said.

It should be recalled that in March alone, police identified 22 crimes related to drug and poisonous substance trafficking. 230 people were brought to administrative responsibility, including 48 medical workers. Due to violations of storage conditions, 43 kg of narcotic and psychotropic substances, over 9,000 tablets and around 15,000 ampoules of medical drugs were seized.
