The Ministry of Culture of Kazakhstan has approved new rules for journalists attending peaceful gatherings. The innovations come into force on 15 April 2025.
According to the website of the bank of normative legal acts, when carrying out their activities at peaceful gatherings, media representatives must now carry a journalist ID and wear a distinctive mark in the form approved by order.
It is noted that the forms of distinctive marks for journalists are a vest, an armband and a sticker. The vest with the inscription "PRESS" must be bright blue with two reflective stripes.

"The size of the inscription: 'PRESS' – letter height not less than 40 mm on the front, on the back – not less than 60 mm, letter width not less than 50 mm, font thickness not less than 12 mm. The inscription is made in Latin letters, produced in 'Arial' font from white or silver reflective fabric", the document states.
The description of the armband states that it must be bright yellow with the inscription "PRESS". In turn, the rectangular sticker with a similar inscription must be no less than 280 mm wide and no less than 100 mm high.
