Inspector of transport control has published recordings in support of corruption allegations.

The chief specialist of the Transport Control Inspectorate for the Zhambyl region, Nursultan Bulatbekov, has published video recordings that corroborate his allegations against the department's management of organising corrupt schemes.

In the published materials, drivers talk about resolving issues through bribes, and a separate recording captures a conversation with the head of the inspectorate about allowing petrol tankers through, bypassing established procedures.

In one of the recordings, drivers of KamAZ trucks from the AKM group company describe how they "sorted out the issue with a certain Yerlan". According to Bulatbekov, this refers to the head of the inspectorate, Yerlan Yermekbayev.

A recording of a conversation between Bulatbekov and Yermekbayev has also been published, in which the latter gives instructions to allow several petrol tankers through. Notably, the conversation is not conducted directly, but through an intermediary named Malik.

The publication of the recordings is a logical follow-up to Bulatbekov's statement. In it, he accused the inspectorate's management of creating a large-scale corrupt scheme with an annual turnover of over 50 million tenge and establishing fixed "tariffs" for the passage of freight vehicles.

Previously, the General Prosecutor's Office had already identified widespread violations of the law within this department. In April, the former head of the inspectorate, Daulet Kemelov, was sentenced to six years in prison for accepting bribes from the owners of heavy goods vehicles.
