The deputy general director of the company's branch "Saigak Kazakhstan B.V." has been convicted for illegal oil extraction in the Aktobe region.
According to the press service of the Agency for Financial Monitoring (AFM), the company's branch extracted crude oil at the "Saigak" field from February 2022 to May 2023. At the same time, the contract term for extraction had expired.
"Despite these circumstances, the individuals involved continued illegal extraction and storage of oil at the field for a year", the statement said.
It has become known that processed oil in the volume of 3.5 thousand tonnes worth 139 million tenge was confiscated to state revenue.
As a result, the court sentenced the deputy general director, who managed the field, to 3.5 years of imprisonment. It is reported that the damage has been fully compensated.
Recall that previously in the Atyrau region, JSC "Caspian Oil", which is owned by the son-in-law of the former President of Kazakhstan, Timur Kulibayev, was fined 13.6 billion tenge.
