The National Statistics Bureau (NSB) has released data on the salaries of heads of departments in Kazakhstan.
According to Finprom.kz, the average salary of heads of organisations in Kazakhstan this year was 788.7 thousand tenge.
"Detailed reports from the NSB allow us to conclude: not every industry or every region can boast a salary of 788.7 thousand tenge for company heads. Rather, this figure is an average between the very high salaries of top managers of national companies and corporations and the relatively low incomes of heads of small and medium-sized enterprises," the report states.
The highest salaries are earned by directors of tobacco factories (3.9 million tenge) and pharmaceutical companies (3.2 million tenge). In the oil industry, managers earn 2.1 million tenge.
Directors of car factories (1.7 million tenge) and coal mining companies (1.7 million tenge), heads of banks and insurance companies (1.6 million tenge), as well as managers in IT organisations (1.5 million tenge), earn twice the average.
The lowest salaries are observed among heads of social organisations (297.5 thousand tenge), as well as heads of kindergartens (319.2 thousand tenge) and directors of veterinary clinics (348.1 thousand tenge).
It is also reported that school directors earn 384.5 thousand tenge, chief doctors of hospitals earn 507 thousand tenge, and heads of government institutions earn 461.3 thousand tenge.
Among officials, the highest salary is that of the Prime Minister and their deputies — 2.5 million tenge per month. Regional akims receive an average of 1.7 million tenge, ministers — 1.5 million tenge, Majilis deputies — 1.3 million tenge, and Senate deputies — 1.1 million tenge.
