The head of the state property department of the Karaganda region was fined for bribery and embezzlement.

A verdict has been announced in Karaganda for the head of the Department of State Property and Privatisation for the Karaganda Region, Dastan Khamzin, and the head of the Financial Support Department, K. Kashkynbayev

According to the press service of Anticor, Khamzin was found guilty of accepting a bribe of 1 million tenge for signing the act of completed work on the repair of the treasury department building.

Furthermore, he was also found guilty of embezzling 2.5 million tenge jointly with Kashkynbayev through the fictitious employment of individuals affiliated with them in the department. 

As a result, the court sentenced Khamzin and Kashkynbayev to fines of 55 million tenge and 25.4 million tenge respectively. In addition, they have been banned for life from holding positions in the civil service and in entities of the quasi-public sector.

It will be recalled that the completion of the pre-trial investigation regarding the head of the Department of State Property and Privatisation of the Karaganda Region and his subordinate was reported in April of this year.
