The Taldykorgan city court has considered a criminal case against a prosecutor from the department for maintaining state prosecution of the Zhetysu regional prosecutor's office.
According to the court's press service, he was accused of fraud using his official position (Article 190, Part 3, Paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan).
The investigation established that in early June, the former prosecutor misled an acquaintance by promising, in exchange for a reward, to resolve a criminal case in his favour. In this way, the defendant deceitfully obtained nearly 2 million tenge.
It is reported that the defendant pleaded guilty and fully compensated for the damage.
The court found the former prosecutor guilty and imposed a tenfold fine, amounting to 19.4 million tenge.
The convicted person was permanently banned from holding positions in state service.
