The Department of the Financial Monitoring Agency (FMA) in Shymkent has shut down the activity of the financial pyramid «Nazira Gold».
According to the agency's press service, the suspects posed as representatives of a jewellery sales company.
Investors were promised a monthly income of 20-40% of the invested amount, but payments were subsequently made not from sales profits, but from the deposits of new participants.
As a result, over 4,000 investors were recruited into the financial pyramid. The perpetrators used criminal proceeds to purchase two flats, a house, and 10 cars.
During a search, they seized 374 million tenge in cash, as well as 12 kg of gold items worth over 300 million tenge. It was noted that the suspects have been placed in custody for a period of 2 months. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
For context, a verdict was previously handed down in Pavlodar against the leadership of the financial pyramid «KHAS». Its investors were promised rewards of up to 70% profit. As a result, 376 citizens in Astana, Almaty, Pavlodar, Ekibastuz, and other localities handed over more than 2 billion tenge to the fraudsters.
