A worker from the regional department of state revenue (DGD) has been convicted in the West Kazakhstan Region. He was accused of corruption.
"The Specialised Inter-District Criminal Court of the West Kazakhstan Region heard a criminal case against a DGD employee for the region on charges of accepting a bribe on an especially large scale (Part 4 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code)", the regional court press service reported.
It has become known that the leading specialist of the DGD for the region received a particularly large sum of money from a businessman. The bribe was intended for assistance in ensuring the accelerated and unimpeded passage of heavy goods vehicles through the "Syrym" checkpoint.
The court found the accused guilty and sentenced him to 10 years in prison.
Recall that in September last year, the court of first instance found guilty of corruption the customs service employees of the DGD for Almaty, Asanbai M., Bekzhunisova D. and Anarbekov M. These officials repeatedly received bribes from businessmen for the unimpeded passage of customs control.
