The AFM Department for the Mangistau Region has shut down the activities of a criminal group that organised an illegal gambling business under the guise of a computer club.

According to the press service of the department, the operator accepted cash bets via bank transfers, after which they registered participants on the platform, providing a login, password, and link for access to the games. As a result, the group's total criminal income exceeded 77 million tenge.

It became known that the suspects used the illegally obtained funds to purchase a Toyota Land Cruiser and a Mercedes-Benz 320 with a total value of 36 million tenge.

The court found the members of the criminal group guilty and sentenced them to prison terms ranging from 5 to 8 years. In addition, the purchased cars were confiscated from them.

It is worth recalling that earlier, the AFM Department for the Aktobe Region suppressed the activities of a criminal group whose members are suspected of organising an illegal online casino. From 2022 to 2024, the suspects created an organised criminal group and managed the illegal gambling business through the «bingo37 pro» platform. The group's criminal income exceeded 306 million tenge.
