Since mid-September in Astana, 280 lorry drivers have violated weight limits. The total amount of fines has exceeded 100 million tenge.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Transport, nearly every third dump truck does not comply with the permitted parameters.
"Heavy goods vehicles exceed the norm by 2-3 times. With a permitted norm of 25 tonnes, they are actually carrying 40-60 tonnes. Once again, we urge lorry drivers and all hauliers to strictly observe the permitted weight limits. The main task is to ensure the preservation of roads", the statement said.
According to the regulations, the permissible weight of motor vehicles must not exceed:
- three-axle vehicles (excluding articulated buses of category M3) - 25 tonnes;
- four-axle vehicles, including those with two steered axles – 32 tonnes;
- five-axle vehicles – 38 tonnes;
- vehicles with six or more axles – 44 tonnes.
It is reported that depending on the extent of the axle overload and the form of ownership of the business entity, the fines range from 40 to 1000 MCI (from 147,000 to 3.7 million tenge).
Let us remind you that at the beginning of September, an automated vehicle weighing system was launched in Astana. When a vehicle is found to be overloaded, the system automatically takes a photo, after which the information is transmitted to the information and analytical system of the transport database.
