An official representative of the Anti-Corruption Service, Daniyar Bigaidarov, explained why the details of the investigation into the case of the brother of the former Speaker of the Majilis, Nurlan Nigmatulin - Argyn Nigmatulin - are not being disclosed.

According to ORDA, Bigaidarov stated that as of December 7, the case was transferred to the General Prosecutor's Office.

"The search is registered with us, and operational measures are ongoing. But, unfortunately, disclosing details could affect the search for Nigmatulin, who may be being harboured," said the Anti-Corruption representative.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Service, Darkhan Kurakbayev, claims that the elder Nigmatulin left the country long before the investigation began.

"We know that he is not in Kazakhstan now. In fact, he left long before the investigation began. He has now been placed on the international wanted list, and Interpol is searching for him," the statement says.

Recall that in early March, the eldest of the three Nigmatulin brothers – Argyn Nigmatulin – was placed on the international wanted list.

It was noted that he and other individuals are suspected of embezzling budget funds allocated for the development of hockey in the Karaganda region.

Later, journalists conducted a detailed analysis of Argyn Nigmatulin's assets, which revealed an extensive network of business interests and property in Kazakhstan and abroad.
