The French parliament has approved a bill banning individuals under the age of 15 from registering on social media. The ban is set to come into effect on 1 September following the completion of the required procedures.

In Astana, a 23-year-old man was sentenced to three years in prison for fraud and disseminating deliberately false information. He published a fictional story on social media about alleged violence during military service and collected money under this pretext.

Kazakhstan has halted the pumping of oil to the marine terminal of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) in the Russian port of Novorossiysk following a series of attacks on tankers in the Black Sea. According to available information, the terminal has stopped receiving oil via the pipeline, as shipping companies are afraid to send vessels to the area.

In the Abay region, implementation is ongoing for 26 social projects, funded by assets returned to the state. The total cost of the projects exceeds 50 billion tenge.

The rector of the West Kazakhstan University named after Makhambet Utemisov, Nurlan Sergaliyev, has been detained on suspicion of abusing his official powers.

Tax revenues into local budgets of Kazakhstan as of 1 June 2026 amounted to 3.7 trillion tenge. Compared with the same date in 2025, their volume decreased by 25.6 billion tenge, with an increase in revenues recorded in 10 out of 20 regions, while a decrease was noted in the remainder.

In Kazakhstan, a system for labelling official calls has been introduced, which will allow subscribers to distinguish calls from banks, companies and other organisations from potentially fraudulent ones. New requirements for telecom operators have also been adopted, along with additional measures to protect users of telecommunications services.
