AFM has shut down a mass phishing campaign using an SMS blaster.
The Financial Monitoring Agency, together with the General Prosecutor’s Office and specialists from Tele2, has shut down the activities of a group suspected of mass phishing SMS campaigns using an SMS blaster. The device mimicked mobile base stations and allowed the group to bypass operators’ security, directing users to fake websites to collect personal and banking details. Four suspects have been detained, and the investigation is ongoing.
