Kazakhstan has received the lowest level of travel risks according to the classification of the US State Department. At the same time, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy and Spain found themselves in a category implying increased caution.

HOW KAZAKHSTAN'S SAFETY WAS ASSESSED

As reported by the US State Department, Kazakhstan has been assigned the first safety level (Level 1) — Exercise Normal Precautions, which means the need to observe ordinary precautions.

Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan received a similar assessment. Canada and Japan are also included in this category.

The last update of the recommendations for Kazakhstan is dated 18 August 2026. At the same time, the risk level itself remained the same.

WHY EUROPEAN COUNTRIES RECEIVED THE SECOND LEVEL

France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy and Spain belong to the second level (Level 2) — Exercise Increased Caution.

American tourists are advised to exercise increased caution. Among the identified risks are terrorism, civil unrest and crime.

At the same time, the second level does not mean a ban on travel, but implies additional security measures.

WHICH CA COUNTRY BECAME THE EXCEPTION

The only country in Central Asia (CA) to receive a higher risk level was Tajikistan.

The US State Department assigned it Level 2 due to terrorist threats, unexploded mines and other factors. Particular caution is recommended in the border areas with Afghanistan.

Thus, according to the American system of travel advisories, Kazakhstan found itself in a category with a lower risk level than a number of major European states.

Earlier we wrote that on 24–25 October 2026, mass protests took place in several European countries. Residents of France, Italy, Spain, Albania and Portugal spoke out against rising prices, social problems and the actions of the authorities. Some actions were accompanied by clashes with police and detentions.

Meanwhile, in Serbia, a list supported by students won the snap parliamentary elections, gaining 52.71% of the votes and receiving 140 of 250 seats in parliament. President Aleksandar Vučić acknowledged the defeat of his political force.
