A resident of the town of Taiynsha in the North Kazakhstan Region (NKR) was notified of a fine of 64,000 tenge because of grass and rubbish near her home. The woman stated that she regularly cleans the area, but after the rains the grass quickly grows back.
HOW THE SITUATION DEVELOPED
As shown in a video published on TikTok, on 26 August police officers arrived at the woman's home on Proletarskaya Street in the town of Taiynsha and demanded that the adjoining area be tidied up.
In the video, the woman says that part of the area is cleaned regularly, and that collected branches and rubbish are temporarily stored for later removal. According to her, because of the rains the grass grows quickly, so it is impossible to mow it every day.
WHY THE WOMAN WAS NOTIFIED OF A FINE
The woman stated that the police officers were issuing her a fine of 64,000 tenge. She also said she receives a survivor's benefit for her child and considers such a sum significant for her family.
During the conversation, one of the officers explained that initially they wanted to give the woman a warning. However, according to him, after a previously imposed administrative penalty within the year, a second warning could not be applied.

During the conversation, the police officer pointed out the need to remove the grass and branches. The woman replied that the area would be tidied up, but stated her intention to contest the issuing of the fine.
