A plot of an Orthodox cemetery in Uralsk has been put up for auction. The authorities are proposing to transfer the area to a private company or entrepreneur under trust management for a period of 10 years to ensure its upkeep and maintenance.

WHICH PLOT HAS BEEN PUT UP FOR AUCTION

This concerns a land plot at the address N. Sdykov St., 3/1.

Main characteristics of the plot:

  • area — 15.4137 hectares;
  • cadastral number: 08-130-014-1036;
  • status — divisible plot;
  • trust management term — 10 years.

According to the documents, the plot is not in pledge and has no new encumbrances. The relevant certificate is dated 11 February 2026.

WHO PREVIOUSLY MANAGED THE CEMETERY

Previously, the area was under the jurisdiction of the city department of housing and communal services, passenger transport, and roads.

The land was allocated for cemetery maintenance back in 2013 by a resolution of the akim.

The documentation also states that the plot has a number of restrictions. It is encumbered by sanitary, environmental, and fire safety requirements which must be observed when operating the area.

WHY THE CEMETERY IS BEING TRANSFERRED TO TRUST MANAGEMENT

The materials indicate that city authorities often transfer cemeteries to trust management when municipal bodies cannot cope with maintaining such facilities.

The main tasks include:

  • cleaning the territory;
  • maintaining roads;
  • ensuring water supply;
  • repair and maintenance of fences.

The new manager will be obliged to maintain order and infrastructure at the cemetery. In return, they will have the opportunity to earn income by providing funeral services on the site.
