In Kazakhstan, an attempt to export gold-bearing raw materials worth 1 billion tenge was prevented, and large volumes of precursors for the production of synthetic drugs were also uncovered. Violations have been detected in several regions of the country.
SHIPMENT OF PRECURSORS AND DRUG LABORATORIES
According to the National Security Committee (NSC), in the North Kazakhstan Region, a large shipment of precursors with a volume of 5,100 litres, intended for the manufacture of synthetic drugs, was discovered.
According to the agency, as a result of the operations carried out, the end recipients of these substances were identified and drug laboratories were shut down.
The NSC also reported that since the beginning of the year, the transportation of 9,620 litres of chemical substances, including hydrochloric acid, acetone, phenipentan, as well as 1,000 kg of 4-bromoketone, has been prevented.
SMUGGLING OF PRECIOUS METALS
A separate incident was recorded in the Zhambyl Region, where border guards prevented an attempt to export 160 tonnes of ore and concentrates of precious metals — gold-bearing sand — abroad.
The value of the seized raw materials was 1 billion tenge.
All materials related to the identified incidents have been transferred to the competent authorities for procedural decisions.
