The former head of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS), Kamchybek Tashiev, has been officially charged under two articles of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic (CC KR). A preventive measure in the form of a written undertaking not to leave the place of residence has been imposed on him.
WHAT ARE THE CHARGES?
According to Kaktus.media, lawyer Ihramidin Aitkulov stated that Kamchybek Tashiev has been charged under Article 326 of the CC KR ("Forcible seizure or retention of power, as well as actions aimed at the forcible overthrow of the constitutional order").
He is also charged under Article 337 of the CC KR ("Abuse of official position"), parts 2 and 4. This concerns actions committed for the purpose of obtaining benefits or advantages, as well as actions by an official holding a responsible position.
PREVENTIVE MEASURE AND DEFENCE POSITION
According to the lawyer, a preventive measure in the form of a written undertaking not to leave the place of residence has been imposed on Kamchybek Tashiev.
Ihramidin Aitkulov stated that his client does not admit guilt.
STATUS OF OTHER FIGURES
Regarding the former Prosecutor General Kurmankul Zulushev and former Speaker of Parliament Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu, their procedural status is currently unclear.
According to the lawyer, they are also mentioned in connection with this case, but details of their involvement and possible charges are not disclosed in the materials.

Earlier, lawyer Sherdor Abdykaparov reported that charges had allegedly been brought against Kamchybek Tashiev, Kurmankul Zulushev, and Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu, but later deleted the publication and stated that he had made an inaccuracy. At the time, he clarified that official charges had not yet been filed and that it was only a matter of interrogations as part of the investigation.
