Presidents Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Vladimir Putin were presented with joint trade and economic projects between Kazakhstan and Russia. The portfolio of industrial cooperation between the two countries includes 177 projects with a total value of $52.7 billion.
WHAT PROJECTS WERE PRESENTED TO THE PRESIDENTS
Kazakhstan currently has 3,500 joint enterprises and more than 17,000 companies with Russian capital operating within its borders. The projects are being implemented in the fields of metallurgy, petrochemicals and mechanical engineering.
One example is an enterprise in the Pavlodar Region, which produces railway switches and solid-rolled wheels for the rail industry. In the Atyrau Region, a major project for the production of polypropylene has been implemented.
Also, in the Karaganda Region, a joint tyre plant has begun operations, and in the Kostanay Region, a project for the production of truck components using cast iron has been carried out.
HOW MANY JOBS ARE THE PROJECTS CREATING
Current and ongoing industrial cooperation projects provide more than 60,000 jobs.
Furthermore, there are another 24 projects in the pipeline in the chemical industry, production of construction materials, and deep processing of raw materials. The total cost of these projects is $10 billion.
Following the launch of new production facilities, it is planned to create an additional 11,000 jobs.
