Закон и порядок – безопасное будущее

A forum titled “Law and Order – A Safe Future” was held in Atyrau, bringing together around 2,000 participants: students, teachers, representatives of law enforcement agencies and public figures. On one platform, several pressing issues were comprehensively addressed – online fraud, bullying, road safety and legal literacy among young people.

WHY THIS IS NEEDED

The event took place in the format of thematic sessions, where each block was dedicated to a specific area of preventive work.

The main goal of the forum is to improve citizens’ legal literacy and foster a culture of safe behaviour. Representatives of law enforcement agencies emphasised that ensuring public safety is not only the task of the security forces but also of every citizen. According to them, priority is now given to responding promptly to citizens’ appeals and improving preventive work. Projects aimed at increasing the level of public safety were also presented at the forum.

YOUNG PEOPLE UNDER THREAT: BULLYING AND SOCIAL MEDIA

A separate block of the forum was dedicated to youth safety. Speakers discussed the prevention of juvenile delinquency, countering bullying and cyberbullying, and the dangers of social networks. The role of parents and teachers in creating a safe environment for children was particularly emphasised.

HOW NOT TO FALL VICTIM TO ONLINE FRAUDSTERS

Experts spoke about ways to protect personal data and urged citizens to be critical of suspicious links and messages. Responsibility for involvement in money mule schemes was explained separately – where citizens, often unaware of the consequences, allow their bank details to be used for illegal transactions. Real-life examples from practice were given to participants.

ROADS AND PEDESTRIANS

In the final part of the forum, participants discussed the prevention of road traffic accidents, improving driving culture and the safety of pedestrians, especially children. The need for joint work by all interested parties was emphasised.

WHAT NEXT

According to the organisers, such forums are planned to be held regularly: they help strengthen interaction between society and law enforcement agencies. The materials do not specify which concrete initiatives or decisions were formulated as a result of the event.
