After the match of the 13th round of the Kazakhstan Premier League between FC Yelimay and FC Ordabasy, the Control, Disciplinary and Ethics Committee of the Kazakhstan Football Federation (KFF) made a number of decisions regarding the players, club representatives, fans and the match referee. The sanctions affected several participants in this high-profile confrontation.
WHAT DECISIONS DID THE COMMITTEE MAKE
According to the Telegram channel ‘HALYQSTAN’, FC Yelimay midfielder Zhan Ali Payruz received a suspension for four matches for unsportsmanlike conduct and attempting to physically pressure the head referee in the centre of the pitch. The term of the punishment is counted from 15 June 2026.
FC Yelimay head coach Andrey Karpovich has also been suspended for four matches. The KFF stated that the specialist aggressively expressed disagreement with the actions of the match official, which contributed to the conflict between players, club representatives and the refereeing team. Furthermore, the committee took into account his post-match comments, which were deemed damaging to the sport's reputation.
WHAT SANCTIONS WERE APPLIED TO THE MANAGEMENT AND THE CLUB
FC Yelimay managing director Fyodor Siminidi has been banned from attending stadiums where matches involving the team are held from 24 June to 1 October 2026. He was also fined 100 MCI (Monthly Calculation Index).
It is noted that after the match he entered the pitch, showed aggression towards the match official, and then went to the referees' dressing room, where he used foul language and made threats.
FC Yelimay itself has been fined 300 MCI for the behaviour of its fans. This refers to chanting insults at match officials, throwing objects which hit the referee, and an unauthorised person entering the referees' dressing room.
An additional 100 MCI must be paid by the club for the undisciplined behaviour of the team, as one player and two club representatives were sent off during the course of the match.
WHAT IS KNOWN ABOUT THE REFEREE'S PUNISHMENT
A separate decision was made regarding head referee Arman Ismuratov. He has been suspended from officiating matches from 24 June to 1 October 2026.
The reason was inappropriate behaviour and the use of foul language towards FC Yelimay officials after the conclusion of the match.
CONTEXT
Earlier, Semey club head coach Andrey Karpovich publicly criticised a number of decisions by referee Arman Ismuratov and claimed the official had behaved unethically. After the match, the team's fans also expressed their dissatisfaction, appealing to the akim (governor) of the Abai region, Berik Uali, with a request to organise an objective review of the situation.
Later, Berik Uali reported that he had discussed the situation with KFF President Marat Omarov. According to him, the federation decided to create a special commission to investigate the circumstances.
Furthermore, head referee Arman Ismuratov was charged with an administrative offence and received five days' arrest. The corresponding ruling was made by the Administrative Court of the city of Semey.
