DATAMetrics has published the results of a sociological study commissioned by the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies (KISS) under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. According to the survey, 87.8% of respondents believe that Kazakhstan is developing in the right direction.

WHAT THE STUDY SHOWED

According to DATAMetrics, the study was conducted from 13 June to 2 July 2026 on behalf of the KISS under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The survey, using the method of personal interviews, involved 8,000 residents from all regions of Kazakhstan, as well as Astana, Almaty and Shymkent, aged over 18.

According to the published results, 87.8% of respondents believe that Kazakhstan is developing in the right direction. The study's authors call this indicator one of the key measures of public sentiment and assessment of state policy.

WHAT IS KNOWN ABOUT WILLINGNESS TO PARTICIPATE IN ELECTIONS

During the study, participants were also asked if they would take part in the elections to the Kurultai if the vote were held the following Sunday. At the time of the survey, there was no official information about the election date.

75.6% of respondents indicated a willingness to go to polling stations. Of these, 44.2% answered that they would 'definitely' participate in the voting, while another 31.4% chose the option 'most likely' participate.

WHAT PARTY PREFERENCES THE SURVEY RECORDED

Respondents were also asked which political party they would vote for if elections were held the following Sunday.

According to the study data, the «Әділет» party received the greatest support with 54.2%. This was followed by the «Ауыл» party (7.3%), the «Ақ жол» party (4.6%), the «Respublica» party (3.4%), the National Social Democratic Party (2.4%), the People's Party of Kazakhstan (2.1%), and the «Байтақ» party (1.1%).

The option 'none of the above' was chosen by 2.3% of participants. Meanwhile, 22.6% of respondents reported that they have not yet decided on their party preferences.

WHAT IS KNOWN ABOUT THE STUDY

According to DATAMetrics, the sample is representative of the main socio-demographic characteristics of the population of Kazakhstan, including type of settlement, gender and age. The stated statistical margin of error at a confidence level of 95% does not exceed ±1.1%.

The company also stated that the publication of the results was carried out based on a written notification to the Central Election Commission (CEC).

CONTEXT

Previously, the KISS under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan published the results of another sociological study, according to which 69.9% of participants considered the state to be 'listening'. At that time, the institute also noted a link between a positive assessment of the concept of a 'listening state', the level of trust in state institutions, and support for the country's development path.
