In the Karatal district of the Zhetysu region, the former flour mill that has been idle for more than 10 years is being restored. In the first phase of the project, worth 4.1 billion tenge, the enterprise is being modernised and prepared for the launch of animal feed production.

WHAT IS HAPPENING AT THE ENTERPRISE

According to LS, an investor is restoring and modernising the former flour mill. The work is being carried out in three phases, with the first stage of the project currently underway.

New equipment is being purchased for the enterprise, and the building is being repaired and reconstructed. The akimat of the Karatal district reported that the next phase of work is expected to see the launch of animal feed production with an announced capacity of 300,000 tonnes of product per year.

WHAT PRODUCTION FACILITIES ARE PLANNED

The second phase provides for the launch of flour milling production with a capacity of 150,000 tonnes per year. In the third phase, it is planned to create an oil and fat production facility with an output of 150,000 tonnes per year.

Thus, the project provides for the restoration of several agricultural production areas at once on the basis of the enterprise that had not operated for more than ten years.

WHAT IS NEEDED FOR THE RESTART

To restore the facility, it is also necessary to bring the power lines and water supply into working order, restore the railway siding, and connect the enterprise to the gas network.

The akimat noted that restarting an idle enterprise is a complex process, and that the necessary measures are being taken to implement it.
