Kazakhstanis whose salary exceeds 850 thousand tenge could be required to pay more for health insurance. This was announced by the head of the health insurance fund, Abulkhair Skakov.
According to the Telegram channel “KTK News”, there is currently a limit on contributions - a maximum of 2% of 850 thousand, but they now want to increase the amount.
“There is a corresponding proposal. In the future, with the support of other state bodies, the proposal will be submitted as a legal initiative. To raise it from 10 minimum wages per month to 50. That is, the issue of increasing the amount from 850 thousand tenge to 4.5 million tenge is being considered”, the statement reads.
Furthermore, the head of the fund revealed the reason for the department’s debt to clinics and hospitals, amounting to 200 billion. According to him, the payment system initially did not work, and then the republican budget delayed the funds for the guaranteed volume of medical care. Skakov promised that the debts would be settled in the coming months.
At the same time, he reported that since the beginning of the year, 400 million types of medical services had been provided, of which 66 thousand turned out to be fictitious.
To combat fraudulent over-reporting, pilot projects using biometrics and FaceID have been launched. At the same time, the department believes that patients themselves should primarily monitor how services are provided.
“There must be control on the part of patients, because no one knows better than them how the service was provided, whether it was of high quality, timely, and in what quantity. Therefore, pilot projects are currently underway. I think that next year we will be able to get the first results from biometrics. There is biometrics, FaceID, and other things. But this is not instantaneous. It will, of course, be difficult to involve the entire population at once. But a certain part of people can be identified when receiving medicines. Thus, these digital devices can be used”, Skakov said.
In addition, the media report that the head of the FSMS disclosed the amount of his monthly salary. Journalists asked him this question.
“1 million 400 thousand tenge net per month”, Abulkhair Skakov replied.
