In a school in Petropavlovsk, an eleventh-grade student arrived with an air pistol. According to local social media pages, he fired the weapon to show it to younger pupils. The police confiscated the pistol, and the teenager was held administratively liable for minor hooliganism.
REACTION FROM PARENTS AND EDUCATIONAL AUTHORITIES
The teenager’s legal guardian also faced responsibility for failing to properly fulfil their duties in raising and ensuring the child’s safety. A recommendation has been submitted to the educational authorities to take measures aimed at eliminating the factors that contributed to the incident, reports Centralmedia24.kz.
OTHER INCIDENTS IN KAZAKHSTANI SCHOOLS
Earlier, in the city of Kulsary, a student ran through the school carrying an object resembling an axe. Video of the incident appeared online on 6 February 2026. The teenager was detained but subsequently reinstated in his studies. According to reports, the school’s principal resigned following the incident.
