In the Kostanay and Karaganda regions, as well as in the Abai region, police have uncovered cases of illegal hunting. Law enforcement officers seized wild animal carcasses, unregistered weapons, and identified dozens of violations of environmental legislation.

According to Polisia.kz, officers from the criminal police department and the police department of the Altynsarinsky district in the Kostanay region, during an inspection of a private house in the village of Oktyabrskoye, discovered two elk carcasses in a UAZ vehicle, as well as a smoothbore rifle AKS-366 "Lancaster".

Law enforcement officers identified the suspects and initiated a pre-trial investigation into the illegal hunting incident.

Meanwhile, in the Abai region, from 20 October to 19 November, the police recorded 30 violations of environmental legislation, including 14 cases of breaching hunting regulations.

The police identified instances of hunting without the required permits. All offenders were held accountable in accordance with the law.

Police officers also documented 8 cases of breaching fishing regulations, including fishing in prohibited areas, during the spawning season, and using banned equipment — nets and electric fishing rods. In addition, 2 cases of storing unregistered weapons were discovered, and materials regarding the owners were prepared.

In the Karaganda region, officers from the environmental police, together with the criminal and patrol police, stopped a Nissan Safari vehicle driven by a 65-year-old resident of a village. During an inspection of the car, the police discovered two saiga carcasses.

The driver did not present documents confirming the legality of the hunt. This raised suspicions and became the basis for initiating a criminal case regarding the illegal hunting offence.
