The Auliekol District Court of the Kostanay Region has examined the case concerning the collapse of a wall at the B. Kenzhetayev Novonezhinka Secondary School.
According to the press service of the region's courts, the head of the education department of the district akimat, who was the client for the construction, installation, and repair work at the educational institution, has been held accountable.
It emerged that the state body had been informed of the slab deflection as early as July. This is evidenced by correspondence between participants in the construction process, including repeated letters from the contractor to the client reporting the issue and stating that the necessary work must be carried out as quickly as possible.
During the court hearing, the accused did not plead guilty to the administrative offence.
The court found the head of the education department guilty and imposed an administrative penalty in the form of a fine of 147,680 tenge.
Recall that at the beginning of September, it was reported that in the village of Novonezhinka, Auliekol District, Kostanay Region, schoolchildren were forced to study in a partially renovated building. Only four classrooms were ready at the school, where lessons were held for middle-grade students. Senior pupils studied in the local wrestling hall, and first-graders in the kindergarten.
The day after the media publication, it was reported that a wall had collapsed at Novonezhinka School. According to the akimat, no children or teachers were in the school at the time, and no one was injured.
